AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D — The Original 3D V-Cache Gaming Chip
The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is the processor that launched AMD is X3D concept into the mainstream gaming market. With 96MB of L3 cache stacked on the CPU die using 3D V-Cache technology, the 7800X3D redefined what gaming performance meant for the AM5 platform. It was the first generation of this technology on the AM5 socket and it remains one of the most highly regarded gaming processors ever made.

AMD is 3D V-Cache stacks additional L3 cache directly on top of the CPU chiplet using through-silicon vias (TSVs). The 7800X3D has 96MB of L3 cache — the same amount as the newer 9800X3D — which is approximately three times the L3 cache of standard Ryzen 7000-series processors without 3D V-Cache.
